Saving Lives One Heartbeat at a Time

“Hands only” CPR has become an increasing popular alternative to traditional CPR. It’s easy to learn and there’s no mouth-to-mouth contact required. The American Red Cross can teach this technique in as little as 30 minutes. Instead of memorizing complicated compressions to breathe ratios, students use the Bee Gee’s song Staying Alive as a guide. The beat of the song is roughly equivalent to the required compression rate of 100 compressions per minute. Here’s a handy reference sheet showing you how to perform hands only CPR: click here to download

This sheet also discusses using Automated External Defibrillators (AED devices). Defibrillators are a must for public and private facilities, schools, ambulance services, and restaurants and can be purchased from www.medexsupply.com.We found a coupon code (Save10) that’s good for 10% off medical supplies and equipment. You could get a sweetheart of a deal on defibrillators and AEDs and potentially save someone’s life as a result. Now that’s something to dance about!
