It comes with a GreenStar Basic software package, but it can easily be tailored to meet your needs, so that you can customize your field maps, record application data such as rates, products and tank mixings; input custom names for fields, farms and products and transfer your information between the sprayer and your computer using the built-in data card. GreenStar Basics comes with Parallel Tracking, which gives you visual and audible signals to help guide you across the field while you steer the sprayer helping reduce skips and overlaps. The SprayStar™ rate controller and flow meter compare and adjust ground speed, target rate and more to make sure you’re applying at the rate you need. Then, the hydraulically driven centrifugal solution pumps adjust nearly instantly to changing conditions.

JD4730 features heavy-duty boom construction, providing a high level of accuracy, even in rough terrain, and years of uniform spraying. While the heavy-duty tubular steel construction provides strength and rigidity, the three separate boom suspension systems isolate vertical, horizontal and yaw motions. Springs and shock absorbers are fully adjustable to match your conditions, while 7-foot breakaway sections help protect boom tips from damage, and can be combined with the optional BoomTracPro boom leveling system.

The booms can be ordered in 80-ft, 90-ft or 100-ft configurations, depending on operator preference or cropping situation, and the 800-gallon solution tank can be matched with a high-flow or standard-flow solution system to meet application needs in varying conditions.

The 4730 is powered by the proven John Deere PowerTech Plus 6.8L engine, built to pull a fully loaded sprayer through tough fields or slippery conditions and gets 245 hp, with up to 270 peak hp available. It features tandem hydrostatic drive pumps, which operate in an ‘X’ pattern. While one pump powers the front left and right rear wheel motors, the other powers the front right and rear left. By using this diagonal drive configuration, the sprayer can maintain traction in wet conditions or uneven ground.

Vibration is minimized and isolated through rubber cab mounts and an exhaust system that is unattached to the cab. All from the comfort of the air-suspended seat with the integrated CommandARM and hydro handle.

In addition, each wheel sports aircraft-inspired suspension that isolates you from bumping and jarring. Auto Air Spring Leveling helps keep the chassis level at all times, even as the spray tank empties. The chassis, axle and frame components are made from high strength structural steel to handle the twisting forces typical of rough field conditions.
